THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME...

Flying Changes Equestrian Center has found a temporary place to call home in Mebane, NC! Our program currently has only one horse and she is finally here in North Carolina all the way from Florida. We hope that we can begin our riding lesson programs for children and adults in the very near future.

OH THE PLACES YOU WILL GO!

There are tons of plans being made for FCEC, especially our business plan and all of the programs we will offer! From riding lessons for children and adults to an Equine Certificate Program, we are constantly at work developing FCEC. We want to be the equestrian program that everyone buzzes about, so keep an eye on us and make sure you get in on the action by "Liking" our Facebook page!

THIS IS HOW WE ROLL, THIS IS HOW WE RIDE

While everything is being developed, please don't hesitate to call or email and see how you can help. Once we find a home, it's time to start showing the community how horses and humans can change each other's lives. And we can't do that with just one horse! (Well, maybe we can). But if you and your horse would be interested in joining the FCEC family, please let us know! Or if you know of some horses that would be perfect for our program, let's see what we can figure out! We hope to have at least 5 horses to officially start the program with, so we will be on the lookout!

Flying Changes Equestrian Center is an equestrian facility created to aide one's journey in becoming a better horseperson. Our goal is to help people realize their own contribution to so-called "horse problems" and move beyond the challenges that arise between horse and rider. We wish to explore how horse, rider, and trainer can use these challenges and setbacks as an opportunity for personal growth.

At Flying Changes Equestrian Center, we strive to teach people how to communicate with their horses, to enhance the partnership between horse and rider and discourage "I'm the Boss" mentalities. It's about horse therapy, horse training, and horse behavior, and it's about the transformations that await us when we embrace our own personal sufferings. But mostly it's about what these magnificent creatures are patiently teaching us.

It all started with a pony ride as a 3-year-old girl. For the next five years, if she was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", she would always answer, "A horseback rider". After her mother did some deep thinking and realized this answer was not changing, Rebecca, FCEC's founder and owner, was able to start on her horse journey by taking horseback riding lessons in 1998.

In 2003, Rebecca's family moved to Florida and in 2004, she officially became a horse owner. For the years that followed, Rebecca met and introduced many people to the world of horses, people that otherwise felt as if their lives were falling apart. After one ride, she would see changes in these people that were phenomenal and the decision was made that "when she grew up," she was going to help all kinds of people through the healing powers of horses.

Granted, the dream has been altered and tweaked over the years from FCEC being a grand hunter jumper facility to a small, introductory program, but when you deal with as many horses and people as Rebecca has over the years, there are always new stories about horses, humans, and the partnerships formed between the two that have lead to her decision to have FCEC be what it is today - a place where everyone is welcome and every style of riding is encouraged.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE

We want Flying Changes Equestrian Center to be a place where equestrians and their equid counterparts can feel welcome, wanted, and relaxed. Whether your place is flying over fences in a show ring or just strolling along on a trail ride, we encourage everyone to be a member of the FCEC family. We want to abolish the English vs. Western mentalities and inspire all horse-loving individuals to cooperate and cohabitate.

Another thing we love to see is the members of our stable embracing many training methods and not just settling for one way of doing things. Every horse and every equestrian is different, and what may work for Rider A on Horse A may not work with Horse B. But Rider C may know a special trick to Horse B, and with an open mind, Horse B will shine with Rider A's guidance.
